I don't know how you honored the great Doctor King on Martin Luther King Day this week, but Kyuti and I celebrated his life, and ours, with burritos, a bottle of Prosecco and Flash Gordon on la davida. Davida, by the way, is French or some other language for DVD, or so I've been told. You're probably wondering what the 80s sci-fi movie starring Max Von Sydow and Topol against a musical background performed by Queen actually has to do with MLK. Well, I'll tell you. If it wasn't for his dreams in action my (black) father and my (Jewish) mother might never have had the balls to live together (in sin) and then conceive me (high-yellow bastard love child) and then I would not have even been alive to be able to enjoy the company of a good (Irish) friend while watching Flash Gordon 20+ years after the last time I saw it. THAT'S HOW.
