Remember when straight men and straight women could actually just be friends? Neither do I. But I'm just saying.

The thing that drives me the most nuts about most men is their persistent fear that women want something from them that most women, or at least some, actually don't. I get that some folks search for their forever person in the eyes of everyone they meet. Some people have agendas. Some people have systems. At a certain point is it not arrogant and perhaps self-defeating to assume that most girls want to marry you? It's as if we're all Lisa Nowak, or Glenn Close, or Winona Ryder in the '90s. Or Minnie Driver! Maybe some of us are, I don't know, say, Debbie Harry. Sometimes men confuse unrealistic expectations with basic standards of, like, being a real person. Sometimes we may want to have ten thousand babies. Rarely are you the person with whom we all actually want to have them.
