Walking to University News for a snack and a large caffeinated plug-in this afternoon I passed one Mr. Gavin Rossdale strolling down University Place. He was in sporty-wear -- some sort of track pants and fancy kicks -- and dark sunglasses, through which I am sure he looked at me. He was chatting avec accent with some fat older guy who looked like Grizzly Adams.

Half an hour later I was heading into 520 Broadway in SoHorible to meet with a photo editor when I clocked one Ms. Molly Shannon going into Club Monaco. She was dressed in a red coat that matched her cheery apple red cheeks.

An hour after that I was walking toward Balthazar to meet a friend for a cocktail and there was the guy who played Ted on "Queer As Folk," looking very hetero. Eye contact was established. As I was about to turn to enter the restaurant, Molly Shannon smiled at me and then jumped into a taxi cab right in front of me with three shopping bags and faded cheeks. She must have had a big shopping hour.

It's not often that Mondays come full circle like that. I'm sure they're all thinking that very same thing.
