Walking up Central Park South, the weather itself is like a big comfy sweater. It's so nice out you almost believe that something good is going to happen.

We are being followed by a dark cosmic vibration in the air, a poltergeist with the face of George W. Bush whispering something about "God bless America," and "kill those sons-of-bitches," and "internets."

From the Time Warner center at Columbus Circle in Midtown Manhattan, CNN is live.

There seems to be an overwhelming number of Bush supporters among the crowd, judging by the signs people are holding. There's only one Kerry/Edwards sign. We are prepared to crack some psychotically organized GOP skulls.

WOMAN WITH BUSH/CHENEY SIGN: Look at Paula Zahn wearing glasses! MAN WITH BUSH/CHENEY SIGN: They're halfsies! WOMAN: What? She can't afford contacts? MAN: HA HA HA! WOMAN: Maybe she thinks they make her look smarter! MAN: HA HA HA! WOMAN: Carville's pants are too tight! MAN: Oh! You're right! HA HA HA! WOMAN: HA HA HA! MAN: HA HA HA!

After Kerry wins Pennsylvania, some Young Republicans run off toward the escalators like they're late for a Dungeons & Dragons tournament. Their co-conspirators hold down the fort on the frontlines.

The tension is building.

We make some calls to several sources around the city regarding where we will be getting drunk later.

"If Bush wins, I'm totally gonna fuck this guy. And if Kerry wins, I'm totally gonna fuck this guy."

11:30pm

Bush takes Florida...

...and we take our medication. Which, funnily enough, was the same medication we would have taken had Kerry won the election. We hide out below the street with The Gays (who you may now kill legally) and some of The Blacks (who you may still kill legally) in a bar that begins to feel like a bomb shelter. Free beer is flowing.

Looting? Can we loot?
